Update October 2021

After careful review of the constant changing of mandates and protocols, CYC has decided to not hold it’s upcoming Winter basketball season at this time.  CYC’s first priority is the health and safety of the boys and volunteers within our CYC program.  CYC is continuing to monitor the situation and will proceed when safe to do so.

Thank you for your patience and understanding and continue to stay safe.

Please reach out to your Organizations if you have any questions.

Update 2021

Due to the uncertainty surrounding our current conditions pertaining to Covid-19, it is with deep regret CYC has decided to cancel all immediate future plans to resume operations.  This decision was made mainly due to the guidelines set forth by State and Los Angeles County officials.  These guidelines make it difficult to plan ahead, reserve gyms and organize the league.

CYC will continue to monitor State and Local guidelines, with the hope that we can resume Youth Sports and our program “safely” in the future.

To those who have been affected, we offer our condolences.  We must all do our part to “Stay Safe”.  Safety for all involved in our program is our number one priority.

Thank you for being a part of the CYC community.  We look forward to seeing you again once our league is able to resume.

Please contact your Organization Rep if you have additional questions.

Joe Yamagawa (11/21/1922 – 9/22/2020)

CYC and the local youth basketball community has lost a pioneer with the passing of Joe Yamagawa.  Joe (97), passed away peacefully on September 22, 2020.  CYC and our Organizations send condolences to his wife Chizuko; daughters, Corianne (Norman) Tatara and Becky Yamagawa; as well as many extended family and friends.  Joe has been a part of CYC since the 1950’s and has held every position possible within our Organization.  Most recently, he was on our Board as one of our Trustees and he will be truly missed by all.
